The Women’s Pre Season Tournament was the largest event in the association’s history as twenty teams competed for the championship at the ‘A’ and ‘B’ level of competition over this past weekend in Mississauga. There was very little separating all the teams as this was the most balanced tournament in years and it was any team’s tournament to win.
In the Women’s ‘A’ class, it was a repeat of last year’s final as the Oshawa Stampede out lasted the Toronto Orange Crush en route to 3-1 victory.
In semi-final action, it was the Stampede squeaked out a victory over the Crazy Couma’s from the Ottawa-Carleton league, while the Crush defeated The Royals, both from the from Toronto Women’s league which will set up some interesting games throughout the summer by a score of 3-2.
In Women’s B division, the Bling won 1-0 over the Warriors in the hard fought championship final. The Bling were lead by tournament all stars Danielle Ashley, Michelle Edgar and Dana Spence. This is the Bling’s first major championship since capturing the 2005 C Provincial Championship.
In semi final action, Tripp’s Shakers from Penetang lost 5-0 to Bling and the Spirit lost 4-3 in a shoot out to the Warriors.

The presentation of the championship trophy, championship and all star awards, have become synonymous with OBHA supremacy. It is an accomplishment and one of the most sought after collection of trinkets in sports today.
