OBHA New Provincial Medal Design

Family and Excellence

The Ontario Ball Hockey Association has released their new medal design and the uniquely designed medals are awarded to the successful competitors at one of the Provincial Championships hosted in July and August.  They are in two classes of colour, gold, awarded to the champions and silver, awarded to the finalist.

The medal designs have varied considerably particularly in size and weight over the years and the OBHA’s first medals were awarded in Orillia in 1974 and the new medal will be three and a half inches in diameter with a sublimated lanyard.  Below we provide the concept design of the new medal:

1) circular open concept cut out design

2) ‘Celebrating Excellence in the Sport of Ball Hockey’ around the edge and ‘Since 1974’ along the bottom signify the wonderful players that have graced the floor throughout the years

3) red Canadian Maple leaf is anchored on all four edges

4) OBHA across the middle along with a female, minor and male player signifying the three divisions the association hosts along with a goaltender in the centre middle as all teams strength comes from the net out
