OBHA Alumni To Play at the Spengler Cup

The Spengler Cup is an annual invitational ice hockey tournament held in DavosSwitzerland. First held in 1923, the Spengler Cup is often cited as the oldest invitational ice hockey tournament in the world. The event is hosted by the Swiss team HC Davos and played each year in Davos, Switzerland and this years begins Dec 26 and ends Dec 31 and will feature these 6 teams, Team Canada, Alder Mannheim, Hockey Club Lugano, Avtomobilist Jekaterinburg, Jokerit Helsinki and host , Davos

In this year’s tournament, there are four OBHA alumni competing, Team Canada will have Mark Cundari (Vaughan Minor) drafted by the St. Louis Blues and currently with the San Jose Barracudas of the AHL.   Cory Emmerton (London Men’s) drafted by the Detroit Red Wings and currently in the Swiss league with Ambri-Piotta, Manny Malhorta (United Men’s) drafted by the New York Rangers and currently with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL and Glen Metropolit (Brampton Midnight Express) and currently in the DEL with the Mannhein Eagles and defending Spenglar Cup champions
