OBHA Women's Ball Hockey at Its Best

 

In existence since 1974, the OBHA continues the next phase in ranking the top 12 teams heading into the 2016 campaign and 42nd year producing the North American Ball Hockey rankings for 5 on 5 indoor version of the sport via reports from the scouting staff and without further ado......

 
 
 
 
 
 
 The Top 12 North American Ball Hockey rankings (based on club teams and not all star team/pick ups for events): 
 
 
1) Toronto Crush
• Best Players – Julie Allin, Mel McKnight, Melissa Boal
• X-Factor – this team simply requires an average goalie to compete as they have plenty of offen 
 
2) Dek Drummond
• Best Players – Sophie-Anne Bettez, Janie Arpin, Josaine Bisaillon
• X-Factor – this team plays a very offensive style and requires the consistent netminding of Catherine Herron
 
3) Toronto Shamrocks
• Best Players – Jamie Rattray, Jenny Brine, Carolyne Prevost
• X-Factor – strong defensive team, but finding offence is difficult at times
  
4) Oshawa Stampede• Best Players – Michelle Binning, Amber Ellis, Jenny Maclean
• X-Factor – players have to come together in short time, but with this much talent they are difficult to play 
 
5) Dek Capitale
• Best Players – Lorraine Boucier, Catherine Guerard, Franceska Perron
• X-Factor – the play of goalie Audrey Brouard is key to this teams that usually plays a very offensive style
 
6) Ottawa Rebels
• Best Players – Erika Pouliot, Fannie Desforges, Claudia Bergeron
• X-Factor – Natasha Plourde in the net must keep the game close as this team has some of the best offensive players
 
7) Burlington Brownies
• Best Players – Lindsay Vine, Annie Del Guidace, Tara French
• X-Factor – finding the right balance of offense with a strong defensive system the team plays
 
8) Newfoundland United
• Best Players – Amanda Kean, Dawn Tulk, Kristen Cooze
• X-Factor – will always be able to play against any team, but need the ‘stopper’ between the pipes
 
9)  Alberta Rockies
• Best Players – Chelsea Purcell, Emily Berzins, Karolina Urban
• X-Factor – Christina McCrindle must play well in the net to keep this offensively challenged team in games
 
10) Toronto Royals
• Best Players – Latoya Clarke, Michelle Bonello
• X-Factor – The best team that not many have ever seen
 
11) Vanier Mooseheads
• Best Players – Kendra Anthony, Elisa Desmier
• X-Factor – Natalie Girouard usually must play big in the nets to keep her team in games
 
12) Manitoba Rage
• Best Players – Chantal larouque, Danielle Ring, Tamara Waite
• X-Factor – strong on team systems, but struggle to find offence in the big games
