Politically Incorrect Win ‘C’ Division Championship
The Women’s Pre Season Tournament sets the tone for the women’s division summer season and this year it seems the championships may go through Niagara Falls and Vaughan as the tournament witnessed two new champions at each level of play.
It was no doubt nothing less than a resounding experience for their opposition as the Beastie Beauts stepped onto the floor in their quest for the women’s premier ‘orange ball’ prize in Ontario. In the Women’s ‘B’ class, the Beauts, experienced their first OBHA tournament with resounding success with a 4-1 victory over the Orange Inferno.
In semi-final action, it was the Beauts beating the Hooligans 3-0 while the Inferno sqeeked out a 2-1 shoot out victory over the Mustangs. In the tournament final, it was all Beauts as they posted a 4-1 victory over the Inferno for the Women’s B title.
There was very little seperating the top four teams, in this year’s Women’s C Pre Season Tournament in Mississauga. Nonetheless, despite their records in the preliminary round games, a battle between the top two seeds seemed inevitable. Politically Incorrect won 3-0 in their semi final over the Crushers and BLG held off the Ringleaders 1-0 in the other semi final. The game was tied 0-0 with less than two minutes to play when PI would score the winner to claim the Women’s C Pre Season Championship.
Congratulations to all the women’s program for their continued growth and development in all divisions of play and for their participation in the 2016 Pre Season Tournament and we look forward to the biggest Provincial Championship in August in Mississauga.
