Penguins Win Tournament
The Women’s Pre Season Tournament sets the tone for the women’s division summer season and this year it seems the championships may go through The Penguins who claimed their first tournament championship.
Women’s ‘C’ participation in the OBHA has become one of the most popular and enjoyably competitive venues in recent years due in large part to the number, diversity and range in the ages of the players at that level in recent years.
It was resounding experience for the Penguins as this was their first ever tournament as a team and there was very little seperating the top four teams, in this year’s Women’s C Pre Season Tournament in Mississauga.
The Penguins would get better as the tournament went along finishing the preliminary round in fourth place and facing the Express in the semi final where they would dominate en route to a 4-1 victory. In other semi-final action, it was the Ontario Mac’s from the Toronto Women’s league defeating London Ball Hoggz 3-0
The Penguins would win3-0 to claim the Women’s C Pre Season Championship over the Ontario Mac’s.
Congratulations to all the women’s program for their continued growth and development in all divisions of play and for their participation in the 2017 Pre Season Tournament and we look forward to the biggest Provincial Championship in August in Oshawa.
